Where is Walk to the Manger at?

Once you reach the front entrance of camp, you will follow signs for the Picnic Shelter & Walk to the Manger. You will be met by a Roman Guard who will lead you to park your chariot and will get you started on your journey!

Is Walk to the Manger Handicap Accessible?

The Walk to the Manger path is about half a mile that takes about 45 minutes to complete. The path follows a gravel road until guests reach Swank Field where they will then walk through a grass field for the remainder of the event. While it is certainly not a strenuous walk, it could be difficult for those with wheelchairs and walkers. The field is flat, although it is uneven ground with dips and bumps. Given the time of day, it is also dark which can make avoiding these bumps difficult. With the size of the route and logistics of Walk to the Manger as a whole, we do not have any way to make it more handicap accessible. If individuals would like to attempt the walk with mobility aids, they are more than welcome to. We also have our hot chocolate station in the Picnic Shelter which makes for great times of fellowship, if individuals would like to make the trip but do not feel that they can successfully make the walk.
